Thinking About You
-written by Jeremy Gloff
-appears on Romantico (2003)

THE STORY:
I think everyone  should write a rock and roll epic about reduction and redemption.  I remember a time I was floundering around, trying to find a firm foothold but sliding sliding sliding.  Even at our most vulnerable, chaotic, and crumbled there is the ability to find strength and courage.  The prize is won by emancipating yourself from your traps and truly saying “fuck this”.

THE LYRICS:

Thinking about you again
Sucked back into the dark side
Actions are hard to explain
When you’re sucked down the drain
Faithlessness

Thinking about you again
Trying to stick by my tough decisions
I keep getting sucked back
Down the wrong set of tracks
You’re stringing

It’s not as good as you say if you turned it away
I’d grow wings if they’d fly me into L.A.
The life that surrounds you will always surround you
Treat me like you’d want to be treated okay?
Damn hold up I need an explanation
How dare you disappear without a confirmation?
Do as the others do…
I can’t allow you to - I can’t allow me to

Thinking about you again
Sleep is hard to find in the nighttime
If I’m living on dreams and waste of time schemes
You’re still winning.

Thinking about you again
You said maybe I could call you
‘Till I’m back on my feet
I need something concrete
I’m tumbleweed.

Grown man you better watch out
These jokes surround you
(I heard you’re still floating out there)
Did you ever ever  think that you could be sane?
(Confused like you always were)
Grown man you better watch out
These jokes around you
(Forever be floating out there)
Don’t you ever hang yourself at clearance again.
(Damned if I could not let you go)
I can tell there’s heavy stuff on your mind.
There’s a heaviness on my mind.

Ooh…thinking about you again.
