The Haunting
-written by Jeremy Gloff
-appears on Autumn (1998)
THE STORY:
An eerie and crisp frost descended upon the quiet Northern town. I could feel the chill creeping through my veins. Into my blood. I’ve vague memories of snowy streetlamps and a nightmarishly quiet darkness. This marked my descent into a writing with a different shade of grey that I’d not known before. It was haunting…and terrible…and more than anything else…bitterly sad.
THE LYRICS:
Color me the golden like the trees last night
A lover with potential's got his head on right
I shouldn've walked away many hours ago
Too gaurded for the shivers that I used to know
Still not cautious enough...I'm writing this to haunt you...
Color me the colors of the confused sky
The leaves are changing color and so am I
Cracking like china makes excuses instead
The sickness of a person trapped inside their head
I disappear...I'm writing this to haunt you...
