In
the wake of WMNF's firing of music director Lee "Flee" Courtney, local
music scene fixture Jeremy Gloff offers a bleak and uncompromising take
on the local scene: too cliquey, no radio or club support, very little
positive press (although he did say some nice things about Soundcheck
... thanks, Gloffy). After Courtney's firing, he's considering leaving
Tampa Bay for good. He writes: "One is faced with the following
options. Leave. Keep this as a homebase and f--- the local scene. Or be
content with the level of success one is currently at." Comments are
closed on his blog, but we'll allow them here. What is the state of the
local music scene?
