Sometimes I Hate You
-written by Jeremy Gloff
-appears on Still Feel It (1994)

THE STORY:
Obsession is all-consuming.  It clouds your every movement.

THE LYRICS:

Sometimes I hate you
Sometimes you make me cry
Sometimes I love you and I like to tell all my friends why
Outside my window I saw a bird fly by
Because you got another call…

Sometimes I wish I never met you
Then I would have time during my day
To wash my hands, drive my car
Write songs about someone else
I’m tired of writing about you
I’m tired of dwelling on you.

You compare me to your friends
You say I am not like them
But do they think about you when they touch themselves?
Do they live by the phone?
Do they run right home like I do?  Oh no.
Do they hate you?  Oh no.
Do they love you?  Oh no.

I know it would be different
If you were attracted to me like I’m attracted to you
But I’m not gonna say I don’t
Love you cause you don’t love me.

I wish I was one of your friends
I wish I could look at you without seeing us together
And I wish I could hate you
For what you put me through
You treat me like I’m a fool
And I can hate you.
