THE STORY:
A package arrived in my P.O. Box. Enclosed were two cassette tapes, nearly destroyed but playable. A boy was talking to me on those tapes. He was talking about how he wanted to kill himself and how my music helped him. This song was for him.
THE LYRICS:
Rainy fourth of July
The razor blade factory
Tells me that Chris wants to die
So I'm rushing to send some wings
To run through his hair
As my lullaby sings...
"It's gonna be alright"Rainy summer day
The address book factory
Shows old friends don't like when you change
My life guarantee stayed true
After I no longer mattered to you
Forever or all my lifeI traded my solid things
Rainy summer week
In search of wings
The day-to-day factory rarely makes ears
Matching mouths that like to speak
Don't shake your head if you don't know
Feels like most beauty died
Centuries ago
Left with a puppet life...
