Whats your name and what do you do?
My name is Jeremy Gloff and I write songs.

What are most of your songs about?
Just my life experiences and stuff. Or people I know… me or people I know usually. Observations.

How many years have you been doing this?
Umm… since 1993. So that would be 8 years. My math isnt to good, I dropped out of college in '94.

So are you a solo project?
Yea, its just me solo. And usually on my albums I will have friends come in and add stuff to it.

What are some of the titles?
"True Stories", "Spin Girl Spin", self-titled one "Jeremy Gloff", "Jeremy's Wonderland", "Autumn"… that’s some of them.

Where could we buy them?
Usually on my website. And Josh [Barrett] of Unshared Worldwide is going to be putting out my new cd so he is trying to get distribution and all that stuff working.

How is that coming along?
Umm… it's doing pretty good I guess, from what he tells me. I let him take care of the business.

So what are some of your musical inspirations?
Usually what I listen to doesn’t sound like the music I write really. Like all of my friends can't stand it but I am going through a country phase kinda lately. I like Emmylou Harris a lot, and I like Sonic Youth a lot too. So, I like them and I must admit I am kind of a Madonna fan.

Whats your favorite part of being a musician?
If anything I like to think that my songs help people get through something. Like if someone can hear one of my songs and relate to it I think that is the best thing that could come out of anything I have ever done, is helping people get through an experience or whatever with a song.

Have you ever toured?
No, I have done a lot of shows but never on a full fledged tour or anything.

What are some of the more memorable shows you have done?
I did one in Erie, I used to be in a duo with another girl. She was swearing and stuff at the crowd so the place never had a show again… they stopped having shows there. Well actually this old lady was walking by the window and the girl was like "suck my cunt" like that so the old lady was like "ahh" so they never had shows at that coffehouse anymore. That was kind of memorable.

Do you ever read any books?
Yea right now I am reading the "Lord Of The Rings" Trilogy, the Hobbit books.

What are some of your favorite authors?
I didn’t read for a lot of years and then I started reading Stephen King and stuff, even though its kind of cheesy. I read "The Stand", I like that book. When I was younger I used to read Nancy Drew and "The Hardy Boys" books.

What are some of your favorite movies?
I like "Coming To America". Im not too much of a movie watcher. I like "Eyes Wide Shut" even though not a lot of people like it.

What were your high school years like?
I was pretty stupid, I guess kind of innocent. I was the kid that everyone made fun of in school but I kind of brought it on myself cuz I would dress a little bit "weird" according to the times or whatever. Typical high school… sucked.

So is this music thing, Jeremy Gloff, what you want to do with the rest of your life?
Yea probably. Kind of move around wherever, work with cool people and make friends. I like it. Hopefully I wont have to work crappy jobs the rest of my life like waiting tables and stuff to support it.

Do you do that now?
Yea I work at Busch Gardens. I guess it pays the bills. I wait tables there so I get to serve fried chicken to tourists all day. Do you know where the blah blah blah is? I always tell them that I just moved to Florida.

Do you have any siblings?
Yea I have a younger brother. He is 18, or 19… I don’t really talk to him much. He is a big Marilyn Manson fan… everytime I talk to him its pretty funny because he thinks he is all dark and stuff.

What do your parents think of the whole music thing?
Im not very close to my father, my mother is supportive of it as much as she knows how to be, you know what I mean? It is kind of hard for parents to understand their kid not going to college and being your all american kind of success story I guess. I think my mom is supportive of my music but she would rather see me be a lawyer.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully still alive… I'm not sure. I see myself definitely not living in my hometown up in NY, that’s about all I know. I hope I'm still rockin when I'm 30.

By the time "Jeremy Gloff" is done with what do you hope to have conquered?
Umm… I'd like to have a decent underground following. Like… Im not a big fan of Tori Amo's music but I love the fact that her fans are really devoted to her and they get something out of her music and that kind of thing. I think a lot of independent punk bands and stuff have a really loyal following and they can make a living doing what they do so I would like to accomplish something like that. I'd also like to always keep my music growing and be fresh and stuff like that.

How do you feel about your songwriting now as opposed to like 5 years ago?
I used to be a lot happier when I was younger. Everything is so depressing now, everybody is like "Jeremy when are you gonna write a happy song." So when I shows I have to bring out some like 5 or 6 year old songs to lighten it up a little bit. But it is a sad world though.

If you could open for anyone who would it be?
I guess I will say Emmylou Harris, the country singer, just because I would like to watch her show and have a free ticket to every one of her shows if I opened for her.

What do you think of Britney Spears?
I like her better then Christina Aguilera because Britney Spears doesn't try to act intelligent. She is dumb and she just realizes it so I like her better then Christina Aguilera. And she payed a lot of money for those tits so I guess it is givin the guys something to look at.
