Make It Thru Tonight
-written by Jeremy Gloff
-appears on Autumn (1998)

THE STORY:
Relentless suicide contemplation.  Everything made it worse. I used to work the drive-thru at Arby’s and imagine the cars driving over my head - one by one one by one.  Sunrise marked the survival of a troubled nighttime.

THE LYRICS:

I am a boy
Locked in the bathroom again
to rub my feet
'Till blood covers my hands
It's a crazy time
I'm a little off balance
And i don't know what to do
Except run and keep running and running...

Jiouxlie's the girl who is waiting at home
Though she may not mean to
she acts just like I used to
It's a crazy time
My friends can't stand each other
And it seems they can't stand themselves

chorus:
Will I'm getting tired
And I need to slow down
And I better watch what I'm doing
I never gave up on me before

I am a boy
Who was HIV tested and scared
Nights I wasn't safe might have killed me
It's a crazy time
Too many people I see I see sexually
And all i want is someone
To wake up next to me
Who loves me
Forever

Molly's the girl
Had a nightmare about my suicide
Two nights before it crossed my mind
Its a crazy time
To think about dying
With so much more life to go

(chorus)

Or the one that is smoking up
The one who got married but never grew up
The one I give weird feelings to
The one who's done much
less than I thought he would do...

Well I'm getting tired
And I need to slow down
And I gotta stop what I'm doing
If I'm gonna make it through tonight
When i'm feeling crazy don't give up on me.
