I Still Sleep Alone
-written by Jeremy Gloff
-appears on America Is Lonely Tonight (2001)

THE STORY:
For a few weeks I spent a lot of time with an eccentric arty straight boy.  There was a candid innocence about our friendship and I cared for him a lot.  This is his song.

THE LYRICS:

I was thinking
How you came in the room
Your eyes turned around
And looked at me
And I would give my eyes to you
If ever you asked them from me
Feel golden next to you
Feel all the bodies I’ve been through
They don’t melt me like you do
I wanna sleep with you.

I don’t like to be touched by people
Never keep my body to myself
I would trade in all those people
For a share in your purity
Feel dirty next to you
Feel all the thoughts
That must go though
Your head with the trash I speak
I live this way because I’m weak
I wanna sleep with you….
