Here is what Jennifer had to say:
Q: How long have you been performing music?
A: I’ve been performing music for about 12 years.
Q: You just got back from tour. Any good tour stories?
A: There are always good tour stories! I did a tour this fall with Amy Ray and it was as blast. She was so nice and her band was the coolest. I played ping pong with Kaia Wilson. She kicked my ass.
Q: Tell us the label you are on and the events leading up to you being signed?
A: I am on Matador records. I was trying to get in to SXSW in 2005 and the person I sent my music to there happened to be pals with one of the Matador owners….he passed it along and they signed me!
Q: Where are your fave places to play shows?
A: So far, I think my fave city to play shows in is Chicago. I also like Chapel Hill and Austin. I really like many places, its hard to choose.
Q: Name one song that’s made you cry in your life?
A: Twilight by Elliott Smith
Q: Your favorite song that you’ve ever written?
A: Good question. I think its Dirty City Blues.
Q: Any future plans?
A: To keep getting better at songwriting and be happy.
Q: Who are some of your favorite out artists?
A:. rufus wainwright. amy ray. elton john.
Q: Any advice for up and coming out performers?
A: follow your instincts.
Q: Favorite Madonna song?
That’s a wrap! See you Feb 1st with yet another OUTmusic featured artist!
