Feeling Of Faded
-written by Jeremy Gloff
-appears on America Is Lonely Tonight (2001)

THE STORY:
A father and son were sitting at table twenty in my restaurant.  I watched them interact - it was obvious they were close.  I don’t think about my dad much but that day I wished for something I never had.

THE LYRICS:

Quarter century
Living as one of the girls
Baseball diamonds
Never fit like pearls
August summer nights pale Everything since then
Feeling of faded
Every time I think about them

Know a son who is his father’s
Pride and joy
Unspoken alliance
Between father and boy
You can’t logically miss something
You never knew
Feeling of faded
Every time I think about you.

And you gotta spin
The white leaves the same speed
It came in
A siren means someone’s in trouble
But silence can mean danger too…

Some don’t hear screams
When you most need them to
My new friends hear more
Than my old friends do
Think how lucky I am
Most every single day
My feeling of faded
Started fading away.
