JEREMY
GLOFF BIOGRAPHY
Jeremy Gloff is an independent
musician and writer who has self-released over a dozen albums since
1993. Born in western New York to a family rife with alcoholism and
mental illness, Gloff found solace in music at a young age. While most
boys were collecting action figures Gloff immersed himself in the music
of Madonna, Stevie Nicks, and other flashy female icons from the 1970s
and 80s.
Gloff’s debut
release was the home-recorded cassette True Stories.
Gloff’s heart-on-his-sleeve approach is evident from the
first track. During the mid-1990s Gloff moved frequently, living
in Buffalo, Pittsburgh, and Atlanta. Gloff continued to issue music on
his own Riotboy Records. Between 1995 and 1998 Gloff released
seven albums.
In 1998 Jeremy Gloff relocated to
Tampa, Florida. 2000’s Spin Girl Spin was
Gloff’s most successful recording to date. Momentum continued to
grow when tracks from 2001’s America Is Lonely Tonight
were featured (along with a cameo from Gloff himself) in the
documentary Hooked.
2003’s Romantico
was Gloff’s most polished work but personal issues prevented the
album from being promoted properly. In 2004 Gloff released the acoustic
and cathartic Orange Songs.
After a low key west tour Gloff took the remainder of 2004 and all of
2005 off. Gloff re-emerged in 2006 with the
melancholy epic Now’s
The Right Time To Feel Good. In 2007 Gloff started
writing "Dear Gloffy," an advice column in Reax magazine.
In 2008 Jeremy Gloff
released the 1980s-inspired dance album 1987.
Highlights from this era included a performance at the MondoHomo
festival in Atlanta as well as a cameo on the Showtime series "Penn And
Teller: Bullshit". Gloff also sparked conversation with his
YouTube video "Jeremy Gloff Rick Rolls The Christians".
Gloff 's current release is entitled "21st Century Love Songs".
